General Job Description:

The Senior Financial Analyst will collaborate with and work closely with the Finance Team and business associates and partners to develop and implement standardized and centralized reporting, analytics, processes, and tools. The successful individual will be the lead in various initiatives that will accelerate transformational improvements and enhancements across finance and the Canadian organization instilling a culture of accountability and delivering on objectives.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

    • Standard process development, optimization, and documentation (SOPs handbook) of various finance and business-related activities.
    • Creating training documents and presentations; provide training at multiple organizational levels.
    • Develop and implement internal monthly / weekly reporting and analysis to report on explain performance.
    • Development and implementation of exception-based reporting to monitor process and performance.
    • Run, maintain, and analyze reports to drive and improve key performance metrics.
    • Create new and supplemental reporting methods to aid management in proactive problem solving.
    • Leading and completing projects without authority across cross-functional groups.
    • Utilization of availability technology for automation of financial processes, reporting, and analytics.
    • Preparation of PowerPoint decks and dashboards for presentation to management.
    • Drive continuous improvement in finance processes / activities and standardization across all business units improving efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance team.
    • Adhoc requests or duties assigned by the CFO for Canada.

 

 

 

Technical Experience

    • Experience in process optimization, development, and documentation (including flow charts).
    • Experience in month end closing activities up to preparing ME working documents (reconciliations, continuity schedules, internal control requirements)
    • Experience in FP&A related business analytics, reports, KPIs, and Power point presentations.

 

Technical/Professional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint Skills required
  • Strong Communication Skills - Ability to summarize and present conclusions and provide clear and concise training and coaching to fellow colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi system environment.
  • Self-Initiative and dynamic, able to manage several priorities at the same time.  
  • Detailed and deadline oriented individual; ability to work within tight timeframes.

 

 

Qualifications:             

Education

  • University Degree – Commerce or Business Admin.
  • Accreditations – Finance Designation such as CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) required.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, preparing reports, presenting, and training materials at various levels of the organization.

 

Related Experience

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Process development, training, and documentation.
  • Knowledge and experience with US GAAP and SOX (Bill 198) environment
  • Experience with OneStream and SAP will be considered a strong asset.
  • Public company experience or exposure preferred
