Reporting to the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, the Marketing Communications Specialist is a core member of the marketing team. The successful candidate is responsible for creating engaging content across various platforms, including websites, press releases, presentations, blogs, short videos, banners and display ads (e.g. Google Ads), email marketing, and all major social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube).


Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Under the direction of the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, develop, lead, and implement an ambitious social media and communications strategy, calendar, budget, and marcom plan with measurable KPIs
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and coordinate the creation, deployment, measurement, and optimization of engaging content (copy and visuals) for various channels, such as products, ads, blogs, digital and in-person events, and podcasts (topic ideas, guests, talking points, and supporting social media and digital advertising)
  • Coordinate with media (interviews, webinars, podcasts, press releases)
  • Ensure communications are two-way conversations between JELD-WEN and its audiences while replies and posts are accurate and respect JELD-WEN's policies and branding guidelines
  • Ability to support tradeshows and events (digital and in-person)
  • Support additional activities as required


Qualifications and competencies:

  • Extremely strong copywriting and communication skills in English (Bi-lingual French is a strong asset)
  • Someone highly detailed and talented in comprehending and presenting complex information quickly and effectively with a keen ability to make data-driven decisions to adjust our communications strategy to better align with KPIs
  • Expert in analyzing and optimizing search and social media campaigns and engagement effectiveness and translating this into actionable optimization initiatives
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing multiple projects with little direction
  • Someone that keeps up with trends and has a passion for creating, deploying, measuring, and optimizing meaningful and engaging content
  • Highly skilled in creating engaging keyword-optimized content for SEO/SEM
  • Knowledge of SEM, website, social media, and AODA best practices


Software knowledge:

  • Expert in project management software following agile/SCRUM methodologies
  • Expert using Microsoft Office
  • Expert using social media management and marketing automation tools
  • Expert using content and asset management software (creating blog and web pages, email marketing, adding metadata)
  • Preference is given to those who are design savvy using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite products (wireframing engagement, editing images, mocking up ideas)
  • Experience using SAP (purchasing), Microsoft Teams and Yammer is an asset


Preference is given to those that have:

  • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent work experience (3+ years) in marketing, copywriting, journalism, and/or PR (with a portfolio of past work)
  • Window and door experience is a strong asset
  • Proven experience building engaged social media channels


Currently, the role is remote, but the expectation is to return to work 3-4 days a week in April (near Pearson airport)
