General Production

Position:                    Skilled Production / Skilled Operator

Reports to:                 Department Manager

Location:                    Woodbridge

Day Shift:                   Monday-Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm

Afternoon Shift:        Monday-Thursday 4:30pm to 1:00am; Friday 3:30pm to 12:00am

Requirements:

• Complying with JELD-WEN EH&S requirements, legal requirements including policies, standards, rules, and programs
• Strong attention to detail
• Very high standards for quality
• Capable to follow detailed instructions
• Performing other duties as required

• Fast paced working environment
• Excellent Punctuality and Excellent Attendance are required
• Possibility for overtime, including Saturdays
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (Proof req’d)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Competent knowledge of General Production duties and responsibilities in the required department
• Cross training and cross functional job sharing depending on business needs
• Physically fit, including but not limited to standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing stairs, etc.
• Including following direction of management on work areas, tasks and duties.

Glass Department:

Semi-Automatic Machines:

Level 1:

• General essential duties listed above plus items listed below
• Controlling and adjusting machine sealant heads (e.g.: speed, material parameters)
• Feeding glass panes to semi-automated machines
• Spacer change & alignment
• Sealant drum change & purging
• Fix issues that might occur during the shift
• Quality checks and troubleshooting
• Scan labels & maintain production records
• Maintain activity logs and SQDCIP boards

Level 2:

• All items under Level 1 duties plus the following
• Setting up machines to start a production cycle
• Press troubleshooting
• Washer troubleshooting
• Bars installation
• Reading batches and organize production

Level 3:

• All items under Level 2 duties plus the following
• Batch analysis and labels printing and distribution
• Corner label replacement / troubleshooting
• Batch re-work uploading / production
• Able to maintain inventory and request materials in timely manner
• Fill out production reports & inspection reports

Bars Area:

Level 1:

• General essential duties listed above plus items listed below
• Understand bars request form
• Run bars machine / fabricate all types of bars
• Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
• Distribute orders and classify products
• Quality checks and troubleshoot

Level 2:

• All items under Level 1 duties plus the following
• Ability to organize different jobs and verify order and divisions
• Ability to work in a timely manner and keep up with production needs
• Ability to verify correct orders and correct if necessary
• Ability to maintain inventory and request materials

Level 3:

• All items under Level 2 duties plus the following
• Machine troubleshooting and adjustment
• Reporting

Vinyl Department:

• General essential duties listed above plus items listed below
• Able to read paperwork and flex up and downstream (glazing, scanning, staging, specialty, rework)
• Glazer
• Specialty
• Shapes

Door Department:

• General essential duties listed above plus items listed below
• Able to assemble a door
• Able to read paperwork and define product type (components required and proper sizes) [Prep Operators]
• Able to lead glazing and inserts installation station
