Under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources for Canada, the Corporate Recruiter is responsible for leading JELD-WEN’s efforts to find, attract, and hire talent within their assigned business units. The role is responsible for sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, assessing and referring applicants for various administrative, managerial and executive positions throughout the company, focused on the Canadian business unit. Openings will include manufacturing, operational and corporate support positions. This ideal candidate for this position will have experience in creative sourcing strategies, effective interviewing and assessment techniques, and working knowledge of basic HR policies and procedures, and provincial employment regulations.      


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  


  • Work closely with the business unit managers to analyze their role / organizational staffing requirements and formulate a creative and effective sourcing and recruiting strategy.
  • Manage the complete end-to-end Recruiting process, including manager in-take process, sourcing and screening of candidates, recruiting and scheduling of interviews, and acting as an active coordinator between management and the candidate to ensure an excellent candidate experience.
  • Identify, engage, and recruit qualified candidates using internal / external databases, market and internet research cold calling, referral recruiting, networking and affiliation connections and online social networking.  
  • Determine and implement appropriate recruiting techniques for JELD-WEN.
  • Act as liaison and strategic partner with 3rd party employment, recruiting and advertising agencies.
  • Provide regular reports on ongoing hiring needs. 
  • Evaluate and analyze data and metrics in relation to established Talent Acquisition goals and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Recommend process improvements, advanced recruiting approaches, and staffing best practices to increase the effectiveness of the team.
  • Participate in staff meetings, and perform special projects as determined or directed by management.



  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources preferred.
  • Previous experience with corporate recruiting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in “full cycle” recruiting roles.
  • Proven success delivering recruiting results.
  • Direct candidate sourcing expertise, utilizing a range of methods and approaches.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with both candidates and hiring managers.
  • Ability to design and implement effective recruitment/staffing strategies.
  • Strong follow-up, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other JELD-WEN position applicable software applications, including internet and technology-based recruiting solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
