As a Field Service Technician, you would be part of the Manitoba Customer Care team of JELD-WEN and report to the Field Service Manager.

The Field Service Technician position is centered on providing exceptional service to our Dealers, Home Builders, Contractors and their customers, by repairing or replacing window and door products as required. You will be part of a dynamic team of individuals committed to providing an exceptional service to our customers.

 

As a Field Service technician

  • The typical duties and competencies for the Field Service Technician would include:

  • Experince  of  installation and repair practices
  • Be able to accurately inspect and  to find root causes of service issue.
  • Perform service work on various products.
  • Clean up service site.
  • Operate company service vehicle in a safe and considerate manner.
  • Maintain service vehicle in proper and safe working order.
  • Maintain tools in proper working order.
  • Maintain warehouse inventory and manage parts delivery and return/discard
  • Provide complete reports from service or inspection jobs.
  • Communicate and document changed or cancelled appointments.
  • Identify and report reoccurring problems or issues such as product defects or process iss
  • Team Work - Contributes to building a positive team spirit
  • Technical Skills - Assesses own strengths and weaknesses; strives to continuously build knowledge and skills. Shares expertise with others. Ability to safely perform tasks on a ladder, scaffolding or other raised devices
  • Ability to lift and manage loads of up to 100lbs (45KG)
  • Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification. Accurately gathers and delivers information from the job site to other members of the Customer Care Team
  • Innovation - Meets challenges with resourcefulness; generates suggestions for improving work.
  • Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction

 

The ideal candidate must have the ability to travel, possess a valid driver’s license as well as a clean drivers abstract. This individual should also have some carpentry skills, be able to use tools and measuring devices; previous experience with window and door products would be an asset. The right candidate for this position should also have strong customer service skills, excellent communication and organizational skills. The successful candidate must be physically fit and be able to work flexible hours as required.
