Plant Finance Manager

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Plant Finance Manager to join our growing team.
The Plant Finance Manager will work closely with the Plant Manager and will also interact with the Canadian Finance and Operations Leadership Teams.
This position has an overall responsibility for providing financial support for the Winnipeg Plant and its operation.
Key Responsibilities/Areas of Accountability:
- Costing Processes and Systems
- Ensure maintenance and integrity of the costing system and related processes.
- Product profitability analysis by product category and manufacturing / distribution location
- Ensure costing and inventory valuation is in compliance with SOX and Bill 198.
- Management Reporting and Control
- Coordinate, collaborate, and prepare annual business plans, quarterly forecasts, monthly flashes, and weekly financial pulse – collaborating with FP&A requirements
- Partner with the Plant Management to gather, analyze, and summarize operational financial reports and adhoc reports and analysis
- Provide financial leadership in productivity / efficiency improvement proposals and any other factory and warehouse studies and analysis.
- Collaborate with the Controllership and FP&A teams to support the financial close process and analyze variances to deliver accurate results and timely reporting.
- Collaborate with the Controllership Team to prepare, distribute, and present monthly spend reports and analytics (vs. plan, forecasts, and prior year) – review each sites’ leadership teams.
- Rationalize and optimize the internal financial setup (g/l accounts and cost centers) to align with product lines, manufacturing, and accountability structure.
- Review and analyze weekly / monthly plant productivity and efficiency reporting and scorecard – provide analytics and ideas to ensure the teams achieve their commitments and objectives.
- Perform financial analysis and develop business models for Inventory and COGS assessment
- Perform reviews and prepare financial analytics and review of all Capital Investment Proposals (CERFS) in compliance with JW capitalization policies.
- Accounting and Financial Operations
- Management, and control including a perpetual inventory system
- Ensure inventory valuation complies with US GAAP – remediate any gaps.
- Financial lead in quarterly physical inventory preparation, procedures, and reconciliation – develop tools and recommendation to improve accuracy.
- Collaborate with Controllership Team to prepare and distribute Operations analytics and MD&A.
- Participate in close activities as assigned by the Sr. Controller and Director of Finance

- Drive continuous improvement in finance processes / activities and standardizing across all business units improving efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance team
- Adhoc requests or duties assigned by the Director of Finance or Sr. Controller
Technical/Professional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of Cost Accounting concepts, approaches, and setups
- Strong Communication Skills - Ability to summarize and present conclusions and provide clear and concise training and coaching to fellow colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi system environment.
- Advanced Excel Skills required (data downloading, efficient manipulation and analysis)
- Superior problem-solving abilities – thinking outside of the box for appropriate solutions
- Initiative/Dynamic - Needs to work cross functionally to drive improvements
- Detailed and deadline oriented individual.
Qualifications:
Education
- University Degree – Commerce or Business Admin.
- Accreditations – Finance Designation such as CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) required.
- Fluent in English.
Related Experience
- 7+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- 3+ years Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience leading and developing a team.
- Knowledge and experience with US GAAP and SOX (Bill 198) environment
- Experience with OneStream and SAP will be considered a strong asset.
- Experience with systems implementation would be considered an asset.
- Public company experience or exposure preferred
