The Industrial / Manufacturing Engineer, will strategically implement lean manufacturing to continually improve the production process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in production operations to drive efficiency improvement in manufacturing by utilizing continuous improvement techniques
  • Recommend methods for improving worker’s efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools and methodology throughout the manufacturing facility and processes
  • Drive the standardization of processes and implementation of metrics and best practices
  • Contribute to the Lean initiatives to ensure that improvements are sustained and entrenched within the business
  • Demonstrate leadership by mentoring production staff and promote knowledge transfer between teams
  • Develop and enhance Lean training and establish a structure in the business to improve the lean knowledge across the business
  • Host Kaizen improvement events
  • Ensure the factory layout, both at macro and micro levels, is suitable for an efficient manufacturing process
  • Identify and implement new technologies, Capex justification, planning and implementation
  • Provide world class manufacturing techniques to support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement
  • Create and revise Standard Work documents
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience, Education and Designations:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Registered as an EIT or P.Eng.
  • 2-3 years’ experience as an Industrial/Manufacturing  Engineer in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Lean Green Belt designation would be highly desirable.
  • Window and Door, Millwork or Cabinet manufacturing experience would be an asset.

  • Hands on experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles.
