JELD-WEN Windows & Doors, Canada’s leading window & door brand, are currently seeking suitable candidates for the following positions:

 

HR Assistant – Temp Position

Duration: 6months with a possibility to extend up to 9 months

 

This position is located in our Winnipeg Manufacturing Facility and is a term position which has the potential to become permanent. Individuals in these positions are responsible for assisting the HR Department with numerous functions including but not limited to: being proficiently cross-trained in payroll and benefit functions, employee job bidding, administering employee programs, coordinating employee events with the HR team as well as managing and tracking information for the HR and Plant departments.

 

In this position the preferred candidate should have the following qualifications:

 

  • Some related post - secondary education and or previous experience with HR in a manufacturing setting.
  • Previous payroll experience considered an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills along with a sense of urgency and personal accountability.
  • Time management skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment would be necessary for an applicant to successful in this role.
  • Strong computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc.) would be required.
  • A friendly and professional disposition.

 

The ideal candidate should be a team player, be able to work independently when required and also have the desire to improve their individual skill sets. The ability to work with people and patience are key attributes for candidates to be successful in this role. Previous experience in a unionized facility would be an asset.
