Evening Group Manager: 3:30pm-12:00am

The Group Manager will report to the Production Manager. This exciting opportunity is an entry level management position located in JELD-WEN’s Winnipeg manufacturing facility. We are looking for an individual that thrives in a fast-paced and challenging environment. The Group Manager position assists and motivates our production employees to meet targets and attain the top level of product quality that JELD-WEN is known for. With a focus on continuous improvement and safety, the Group Manager plays a critical part in our company’s team and culture.

 

As a Group Manager, you will:

 

  • Create and execute production plans that efficiently and effectively utilize all resources to meet production goals.
  • Foster a culture of safety by promoting employee involvement and ensuring compliance to Health and Safety policies.
  • Manage team performance and results by holding employees accountable to expectations and goals.
  • Develop employees through training and coaching and by providing clear roles and consistent support and feedback.
  • Implement manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and track employee attendance through the Company’s digital timekeeping system.
  • Develop and manage continuous improvement projects.
  • Forecast production demands based on internal trends such as labour and takt time.

 

To succeed in this position at JELD-WEN, we are looking for the following:

 

  • Post-secondary education required, with a preference in management related studies.
  • Previous management experience in a manufacturing setting is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge (including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook) is required.
  • Knowledge of the window and door industry is an asset.
  • Experience/training with LEAN manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement is an asset.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, particularly in an environment with a diverse workforce.
  • Time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with UKG Dimensions or other digital timekeeping system is an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset.
  • Experience with ERP and data management software is an asset.
