JELD-WEN Windows & Doors, Canada’s leading window & door brand, are currently seeking suitable candidates for the following positions:

 

Group Manager – Production

 

This open position is an entry level management position located in our Winnipeg Manufacturing Facility. Individuals in these positions are responsible for managing groups of employees in departments, planning for production requirements, maintaining production goals, implementing manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives; ensuring safety requirements are met and maintained as well as overseeing departmental inventory levels.

 

In this position the preferred candidate should have the following qualifications:

 

  • Some related post - secondary education and or previous management experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Hands on manufacturing experience as well as practical and theoretical experience and knowledge of lean manufacturing process principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills along with a sense of urgency and personal accountability.
  • Time management skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment would be necessary for an applicant to successful in this role.
  • Mechanical aptitude as well as basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) would be required.

 

The ideal candidate should possess some knowledge of the window and door industry or have some related manufacturing management experience, be a team player, be able to work independently when required and also have the desire to improve their individual skill sets. The ability to work with people, coach, teach, mentor are key attributes for candidates to be successful in this role. Previous experience managing in a unionized facility would be an asset.
