Electrician

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Electrician to join our growing team.

• Ability to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic equipment.
• Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at provincial and federal levels.
• Perform rigging activities, safety-related functions and other miscellaneous electrical functions.
• Demonstrate safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power).
• Competent with programming of VFD’s.
• Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLC’s.
• Must be physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair production and facility equipment.
• Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical, electronic equipment.

• Clear understanding of testing devices such as multimeters, meggar, thermal imaging and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
• Demonstrate mechanical knowledge.
• Clear understanding of reactive, predictive and preventative maintenance.
• Perform installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled trade workers.
• Perform duties in a work environment that will be hot, cold, dirty and fast-paced.
• Coordinates and schedules additional work as required.
• Self-starter yet able to take orders as directed.
• Must possess demonstrated ability to safely utilize a forklift and high lift.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Industrial Electrician Red Seal Journeyman
• 5 years experience in a maintenance manufacturing/production environment

• Commitment to safety, environment, and trade profession of the red seal
• Must be available to work 8-hour evening shifts, callouts, and overtime as required.
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Must have a thorough knowledge in PLC’s, VFD’s.
• Strong understanding of schematics/blueprints.
• Willingness to take equipment training courses, travel if required.
