Electrician

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Electrician to join our growing team.

The Opportunity

As an Electrician at JELD-WEN, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the various machines in our facility. Electricians are part of our Maintenance Department, and the team works together to serve as the go-to problem-solvers for any issues that occur to keep our plant running smoothly and efficiently.

This is an on-site role and is based in our Winnipeg plant.

What You Will Do

• Assemble, install, troubleshoot, and test electrical and automated control circuits and electrical and electronic equipment.
• Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at provincial and federal levels.
• Utilize testing devices such as multimeters, megar, and thermal imaging to ensure compatibility and safety of systems.
• Assist with rigging activities, safety-related functions, and other miscellaneous electrical functions.
• Collaborate with a team of skilled trade workers and production managers to ensure timely and proficient maintenance work.
• Work in a diverse environment that can be hot, cold, dirty, and fast-paced.
• Use various powered industrial trucks such as forklifts and high lifts.

Who You Are

• Industrial Electrician Red Seal Journeyman
• 5 years’ experience in a maintenance manufacturing/production environment
• Physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair production and facility equipment.
• Thorough knowledge in PLC’s and VFD’s (troubleshoot, program).
• Clear understanding of reactive, predictive, and preventative maintenance.
• Available to work 8-hour evening shifts, callouts, and overtime as required.
• Willing to take equipment training courses and travel if required.
