Summary: The role reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is responsible for supporting production departments by receiving external order detail and formulating this into a comprehensive production plan of priorities and activities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead departmental personnel in the execution of daily plans with a singular focus on maximizing the customer experience;
  • Maintain and develop the necessary procurement and inventory planning, control and reporting processes to ensure optimized supply chain management objectives are achieved.
  • Manage all receiving, storage, order picking and material handling processes;
  • Develop world-class supply chain channels with a particular focus on off-shore/long-lead time channels;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external suppliers and customers;
  • Leverage relevant KPIs to monitor the department and team performance and to hold them accountable;
  • Strong knowledge of US cross-border logistics and customs processes and applicable paperwork;
  • In conjunction with Operations Management Team, develop and adhere to operational and inventory expenditure budgets;
  • Drive a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement;
  • Willing to roll-up your sleeves, work alongside the team and lead by example;
  • Receive client production requirements from the sales / commercial department.
  • Formulate a build-plan to populate production departments.
  • To ensure efficiency is maximized via smooth batching and prioritization.
  • To limit equipment changeovers and operational disruption through accurate planning and prioritization.
  • To liaise closely with Value Stream Leaders / Managers to determine load limits and bottlenecks.
  • To build bills of material (BOMs) for non-standard and special client requirements when Titan BOMs are unavailable (writing-off).
  • To provide a technical expertise to production, assisting sequencing, methodology and techniques.
  • Liaise with the commercial department regarding client batching dates and expectations.
  • Other tasks requested by supervision / management.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Post-secondary degree in Procurement / Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations or similar with proven experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement Management and Inventory Management roles.
  • Must have a ‘SAFETY FIRST’ culture with a zero tolerance and continuous safety improvement mentality.
  • Previous planning / scheduling experience is required.
  • Previous manufacturing process knowledge is required.
  • Base knowledge of the company’s primary manufacturing process and technologies.
  • Previous experience of working within a ERP / MRP system, including capacity planning software.
  • Previous purchasing experience and management required.
  • Previous stock management responsibilities and experience.
  • Must be well organized, have an attention to detail and ability to deliver 100% of expected requirement.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Business or related field or comparable experience required.
  • At least three years of experience in a related area with some supervisory experience, preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
