Production Planner

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Production Planner to join our growing team.

The Opportunity

As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for developing the production plan consistent with the plant capacity and sales forecast. In this role, you will also complete revisions of schedules in accordance with changing conditions. You will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager.

This position is onsite and based in our Venice, FL facility.

What You Will Do

• Responsible for transferring the daily work orders into a valid production schedule.
• Coordinates production activities with all assembly and support personnel.
• Research problems and questions related to the scheduling function with timely resolutions.
• Attends the daily scheduling meeting as an active participant on all issues with input as to any concerns or problems.
• Communicates effectively with teammates and management while displaying a positive, team-based attitude.
• Responsible correct balance and mix of orders to the production floor to support both capacity limits as well as the customer due dates and providing feedback if issues arise.
• Responsible for a safe work environment and for keeping specific work areas clean and organized.
• Responsible for monitoring the daily schedules by spending time in production areas with follow-up as related to actual results versus planned results.
• Responsible for level loading both the individual production cells as well as the overall plant along with communicating and resolving any planning capacity issues.
• Responsible for working closely with the Buyer/Planner position to achieve desired stocking levels.
• Responsible for distributing the necessary hard copy information to the production floor and materials in a timely fashion.
• Analyze daily generated reports to maintain internal and external priorities. (Action Notice Report, Negative ATP(Available to Promise) Reports, NCR(Nonconformance) Reports, Firm Planner Order Reports.)
• Works with Shift Leads and/or Supervisors to analyze capabilities for departments and work centers to level the workload for each work center.
• Perform all other responsibilities as assigned or required.

Who You Are

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of Manufacturing Resource Planning methods and processes
• Experience using MRP/ERP tools/systems.
• Experience using Microsoft excel, Microsoft Project or other scheduling software.
• Proficient in MS word, Excel and PowerPoint; and general computer skills and knowledge
• Ability to effectively make complex decisions with limited time and information and can determine decision making criteria based on priorities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines with internal and external resources.
• Experience with implementing process improvements, conducting root cause analysis,
