THE ROLE
Responsible for Grading, Building, Cutting, Repairing, Painting, Buffing, Wrapping and/or Packaging of doors.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Measure, cut and prepare material to build interior doors.
- Assemble doors following the design specification.
- Able to use hand tools such as hand sander to perform repairs.
- Able to paint, buff, wrap and pack doors.
- Inspect and perform quality verification and take the necessary actions.
- Meet production standards.
- Maintain the area, equipment and machinery in a clean, orderly, and operational condition.
- Conforms with safety regulations per plant policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of safety glasses, earplugs, masks, steel-toed boots/shoes, and associated safety equipment in order to be on the plant floor.
- Reports unsafe conditions immediately to appropriate supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Able to use and read a tape measurement
Work environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and machines, vibrations and loud noises.
- All safety protocols including OSHA guidelines as mentioned above are mandatory.
Physical demands
- The physical demands described here are representative, but not all-inclusive, of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and operate hand tools. The employee must occasionally and/or frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Education and Experience
- High School or equivalent
- No prior training or work-related experience at JELD-WEN
