BASIC FUNCTION: This is a non-supervisory position that is responsible for operating a Computer Aided Design (CAD) computer system in order to create, update and modify drawings. 


  • Creating AutoCAD drawings for projects and manufacturing.
  • Creating and modifying door elevations, cross-sections, and details.
  • Reading and reviewing architectural plans and specifications for creating drawings.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

This position is regularly scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime is required.




  • Deadline and detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD drafting principles, practices, methods and techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of architectural plans.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Ability to maintain complete and readily accessible files.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills, with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proven problem solving skills.
  • Works well in a team environment, with a diverse workforce.



  • Associate's Degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, or at least three years of related work experience in the door manufacturing, construction or building materials industry.
