JELD-WEN is currently seeking an Supply Chain Manager to join our growing team. 

 

THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Manager will organize, lead and facilitate process improvement within the Supply Chain function for a specific line of business. Areas to be addressed include: Materials Management, Purchasing, and Production Control. The Supply Chain Manager will lead a team responsible for one of these functional areas for a specific line of business e.g., Wood Windows, Vinyl Windows, Specialty Windows, Exterior Doors, Interior Doors, or Components. We are looking for a process-focused, systems-thinker with a wide lens to produce solutions that optimize customer service, inventory, and production planning.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The Supply Chain Manager will lead/coordinate projects and process improvements within the Supply Chain areas of Materials Management, Procurement, and Production Control for affiliated facilities. As a team leader and/or individual contributor, the expectation is that you will use proven leadership and change management skills to drive improvements in business performance related to inventory investment, on-time delivery performance (OTIF), domestic/international freight expense, resource/capacity utilization and customer service initiatives for the Supply Chain team. Business performance improvements will be primarily driven through working relationships with Production and Inventory Control Managers, Category Managers, Plant Managers, Production Control Analysts, Supply Chain team, and Master Schedulers to monitor and evaluate inventory positions to recommend/initiate actions based on component availability and customer service objectives.


  • Drive the development, implementation, and advancement of the JELD-WEN Plan For Every Part process across the entire NA manufacturing campus for both Windows and Doors business units.
  • Manage the development of a center-led inventory planning parameters tool (Safety Stock, Re-order point quantities, Lot Size, Lead-time, etc..) such that the component and finished goods availability levels are in line with the monthly IBP (S&OP) projections.
  • Work with the Master Schedulers / Supply Chain Analysts to plan/coordinate the monthly inventory planning parameter review process to establish appropriate customer service driven safety stock/reorder point levels for components and/or finished goods based on processes specified in the materials planning playbook.
  • Tracking, analyzing and reporting the pertinent KPI’s, as well as, suggest and implement plant-specific improvement activities
  • Identify supply chain opportunities and work with Supply Chain/Logistics Analysts and Master Schedulers to proactively improve supply chain processes to help improve customer service, inventory management, and logistics spend.
  • Drive improvements in daily tactical process execution in the planning and scheduling functions through the development of robust planning tools, standard reports, and exception-based escalation protocols
  • Ensure alignment between Sales, Operations, and JELD-WEN suppliers as it relates to our inventory and customer service strategies.
  • Research situations and obtain input from others to ensure fact-based solutions and answers to technical and operational problems.
  • Support the development of transportation and warehousing modeling and optimization processes.
  • Apply in-depth financial knowledge, expertise and analytical skills to model potential solutions or step-function improvements in our supply chain model.
  • Provide relevant experience for all affected Business Unit strategic and operational planning activities and serve as a resource to assist in the resolution of business wide inquiries and problems.
  • Utilize analytical skills to present recommendations on how to achieve inventory objectives.
  • Create training material and document procedures to comply with new/existing business processes
  • Lead development of Division-wide processes that ensure productive planning efforts in business segments and functional units consistent with business unit requirements and strategies.
  • Takes responsibility for continuous development and performance; provides and asks for performance feedback. Develops and energizes people through sharing ideas, coaching, mentoring, or supervising. Communicates the JELD-WEN vision, values, principles and business goals.

  • Proactively establish and cultivate a broad network of contacts both within and outside the Supply Chain function for the purpose of collaborative information collection and dissemination
  • Develop effective working relationships with others. Willingly contributes ideas within and across work groups, and teams with others to complete varied work assignments. Leverages own expertise by sharing lessons learned, documenting processes, conducting team de-briefings, etc.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE

 

  • 1-3 years’ experience as an Associate Supply Chain Manager on the corporate supply chain team (comparable external experience may be considered).
  • 5-9 years experience in Production and Inventory Control, Operations, Purchasing, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience required. Prefer degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical skills. Advanced knowledge Microsoft Excel is required
  • Proven leader implementing and sustaining change.
  • Hands-on Project Management experience.
  • Ability to interact with various levels of management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree, MBA or other related advanced degree.
  • Modeling / Optimization Skills.
  • Experience in discreet, job shop and/or flow manufacturing environment.
  • APICS Certification CPIM/CIRM
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience with databases, query/reporting tools preferred
