JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Production Scheduler to join our growing team.

 

The Opportunity

As a Production Scheduler, you will be responsible for optimizing production processes, ensuring efficient resource allocation, and maintaining an organized production schedule for the operations.  Planning and coordinating the production workflow to meet production targets, minimize downtime and enhance the overall productivity. You will report directly to the Production Manager.

 

This position is onsite and based in our Sterling Heights, MI facility.

 

What You Will Do

  • Production Planning:  Collaborate with various departments within the operations, supply chain and sales, to create a comprehensive production schedule based on customer demands, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  • Resource Allocation:  Efficiently allocate resources, including material sku’s to achieve production goals while minimizing waste and downtime.
  • Inventory Management: Work closely with purchasing/inventory control to ensure adequate stock levels and help reduce excess inventory.
  • Production Coordination:  Coordinate with managers and group leads to ensure smooth workflow, resolve production-related issues, and maintain on-time delivery.
  • Process Optimization: Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce lead times and identify opportunities for sot reductions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:  Collaborate with other departments to align production schedules with sales forecasts, inventory plans and business objectives.

 

Who You Are

  • Must have a HS Diploma; some college or specialized training preferred.
  • 2+ years of work experience in an office setting; preferably in manufacturing but not required.
  • Self-starter and able to perform the job with minimal supervision once trained.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and/or MMI ERP system
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
