Job Description:

The Junior Art Director will be responsible for the design layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size and style of the company’s designs. They are responsible for helping determine the direction each design should portray to clients in partnership with the Marketing Team. The Junior Art Director will review all designs for errors before print and publish and be able to meet with clients or the Manager to create designs for both print and digital applications. The Junior Art Director must have the ability to create graphic designs from computer software packages, with a high proficiency in the core software of the Adobe CC Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.

 

 

Reports To:  Marketing Manager

 

Responsibilities:

  • Generate original visual content that is both exciting and creatively attractive
  • Work with team members to develop new ideas and deliver work bases on those ideas on time and at a high-quality level
  • Work with the marketing manager and account managers to establish appropriate creative directions for projects
  • Working with senior team members and managers to establish new skills and insights
  • Create images that identify a product or convey a certain message (product illustrations, logos, social media graphics, web-based graphics and photo editing).
  • Completes projects by coordinating with outside service providers, printers, etc.
  • Staying informed of evolving and new media formats, and learning how to incorporate them into active projects
  • Ability to copywrite base marketing content and proof new and existing content.

 

Required Skills:

  • An understanding of creative design and visual layout
  • High proficiency with creative software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Ability to develop and execute creative and unique ideas for print and digital platforms
  • The confidence to communicate ideas and sell them to peer team members and management
  • Flexibility to adapt your ideas to suit project and team expectations
  • Willingness to work at a high-quality level on tight deadlines in high pressured environments
  • Awareness of digital media and evolving online platforms
  • Innovative approach to the ways in which advertising is executed
  • Track record of inventive and compelling design work

 

 

Preferred Skills

  • Sound understanding of marketing principles.
  • Familiarity with Muse, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Lightroom, Premier is a plus
  • Familiarity digital communication and interaction platforms (Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, MS Teams and social media)
  • Generate marketing and technical copy (written content) for marketing material

 

Education & Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in the field of Graphic Design
  • Strong written and oral skillset
  • Present a professional portfolio that features your design work

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office environment with the possibility of hybrid office\remote work due to COVID.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers (Windows and Mac OS), phones, printers, and photocopiers.
