Senior Maintenance Technician

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to join our growing team.

 

This position (2nd Shift) is responsible for troubleshooting the company's equipment and making repairs in a timely manner to ensure minimal production downtime. This includes repairing equipment parts, performing equipment retrofits and modifications. 

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for installing, replacing and/or changing machine parts as needed. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment per the Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule. 
  • Keep accurate and detailed records and PM schedules. 
  • Quickly troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize machine downtime. 
  • Performs tolerance checks and makes adjustments to ensure machine conformance to part quality requirements.  
  • Observes mechanical operation of all equipment to determine machine conformance. 
  • Responsible for purchasing parts and parts management. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

 

  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and have a good driving record. 
  • Must be fluent in safety procedures to include all things related to maintenance and repair of production machinery and ensure equipment guarding compliance.  
  • Must have knowledge and ability to perform all aspects of LOTO requirements to meet state and federal standards. 
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic cylinder operation and the ability to rebuild them is required. 
  • Experience with VFD’s and PLC’s.  
  • Must possess understanding and knowledge of low voltage DC circuits, 110 through 480 Volt AC single and three phase.  
  • Ability to operate all production-related machinery to include electric scissor lift, electric pallet jack, forklift and overhead crane. 
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.  
  • Must be well organized and be able to self-manage to ensure deadlines are met and projects are completed.  
  • Must have good computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office. 
  • MIG welding experience is a plus.  
  • Preventative Maintenance competency on all equipment
  • Forklift qualified
  • Electric pallet jack qualified
  • Scissor/boom lift qualified
  • Facility Grounds Maintenance
  • Basic Mechanical aptitude.
  • Plumbing and construction skills
  • Basic knowledge of control circuit voltage troubleshooting & repair.
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduit bending and installation.
  • Welding/fabrication
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude.
  • Advanced knowledge of control circuit voltage troubleshooting & repair.
  • Technical knowledge down to component level.
  • Qualified to troubleshoot up to 120 VAC.
  • Qualified to troubleshoot & repair all electrical components.
  • Expert knowledge of control circuit voltage troubleshooting & repair.
  • Expert mechanical aptitude.
  • Expert knowledge down to component level.
  • Can operate and perform tasks on CNC mill
  • G-Code programming
  • New part and machine setup and programming
  • Facilities alarm systems
  • Purchasing and parts management
  • Can prioritize work according to needs.
  • Coordinates with Supervisor and management on issues or projects pertaining to Operations department.
  • Assists and guides Maintenance1 & Maintenance2 positions.
  • Understands and follows OSHA guidelines.
  • Must be a team player
  • Must have motivational skills

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. An Associate's Degree is preferred.  
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a successful millwright or maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
