THE ROLE

 

The Lamination Value Stream Manager is responsible for all aspects of lamination production, customer support, profitability & team development.  This leader is a change agent, developing short and long-term goals and creating a continuous improvement environment with an unconditional commitment to safety, eliminating waste, and employee engagement.   

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Manage and develop VPI's in-house vinyl lamination business unit. 
  • Responsible for delighting VPI customers, developing the VPI culture, and delivering profitability.
  • Implements strategic programs that improve labor efficiency, on-time delivery, quality, workplace safety, and customer expectations
  • Drives a corporate culture that focuses on data, tangible results, and behaviors
  • Maintains manufacturing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities
  • Interfaces closely with Plant Manager and Supply Chain Manager to effectively develop purchasing and logistical systems, inventory, and production control requirements

  • First-person, servant-based management style
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to create and drive change and effectively communicate throughout the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a cross-functional team
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and motivate team performance.
  • The ability to supervise is essential for the candidate to perform successfully in this position
  • Works with integrity and respect, displaying a high degree of tact and diplomacy

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical science.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years related experience, Manufacturing Process & Management preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of Lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Demonstrared experience of managing wet manufacuring processes and systems.
