Overview
As a Supply Chain Analyst, you will be responsible for creating visibility of the supply chain's current state and future outlook through efficient data collection, effective analysis, and visualization of the information. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring clear and accurate data flows and is easily available for the process participants. Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, you will work cross-functionally to provide insights for supply chain fulfillment and coordinate supply chain duties. You will create and maintain data models and visualization solutions whilst interacting with sales, product management, production, procurement and distribution centers. Your role will play a crucial part in developing and improving our IBP processes through facilitating information sharing and communication around a common data set.

 

Skills and Experiences

  • Experience from a similar role, including structuring data and driving data-projects with several stakeholders 
  • Mastery of MS Office collaboration and data-related applications (Excel, Teams, SharePoint), working skills with SQL
  • Financial and business acumen to understand the levers of performance in a business. As well as the ability to connect separate pieces of data to build a clear picture of those levers
  • Highly structured in your approach to problems and capable of creating scalable solutions over one-time fixes
  • A curious mind with a passion for data gathering and cleaning
  • Solid communication skills with the ability to create and tell compelling data stories to stakeholders on all levels


Responsibilities

  • To live by the JELD-WEN and VPI values to build businesses ethically and safely as well as ensure adherence to all compliance standards and operate with integrity at all times
  • Work closely with several internal stakeholders within the VPI team, Procurement, Product Management, Sales management and IT 
  • Coordination of data collection in the supply chain area
  • Creation of data analyses and visualization tools
  • Improvement and development of processes with a focus on facilitating data sharing and communication
  • Project management and support
  • Timely initiation of purchase orders in ERP system. Ensure all materials are available for forecasted and/or confirmed customer order fulfillment according to facility needs.
  • Communicate with production facilities and suppliers with a high level of frequency and engagement to ensure material availability.
  • Set and manage planning parameters (safety stock, lead times, forecasts, order quantities) to achieve and sustain targeted inventory levels.
  • Analyze inventory variances and projected stockouts to determine root cause and take corrective actions to mitigate future reoccurrences.
  • Lead shortage mitigation and recovery planning efforts to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Work closely with Sourcing Category Managers to develop and execute sourcing strategies that align to our Lean materials management strategy and improve the velocity of raw material flow throughout the value stream.
  • Manage transition and timing of product offering changes (engineering changes, new product launches, product line obsolescence, vendor changes)
  • Drive actions with Suppliers, Materials Managers, Logistics Managers and Commodity Managers to achieve On Time Delivery targets and to develop and maintain the Plan For Every Part required to optimize material flow and inventory investment for assigned product lines through the entire value stream.
  • Onboard new suppliers to ensure compliance with Supplier Delivery Standards as they relate to material presentation (packaging), on-time delivery expectations, supplier labeling standards, lead time expectations,

 

Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following:

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to lead / influence without direct authority
  • Ability to plan replenishment of multiple SKU production materials
  • Analysis of inventory variance and the ability to identify the root cause (BOM errors, forecasting errors, parameter settings, plan vs actual lead times, etc.)
  • PO generation and dispute management
  • Supplier issue resolution and escalation
  • Management of suppliers across multiple (20+) manufacturing sites

Education/Experience: Two year Associates degree or Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) from college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability: Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, remote counterparts and downstream internal customers, and functional leadership. Ability to discuss supplier relationships with Strategic Sourcing teams.

Mathematical Ability: Ability to utilize basic statistics and mathematical formulas common in the Supply Chain and Logistics functions. Ability to create and adapt basic concepts and apply them to large data sets. Basic understanding of cost-benefit analysis and cash flow optimization with respect to inventory investment.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to translate individual performance goals to identify improvement opportunities.

Computer Skills: This job is almost exclusively computer and phone based. General computer use skills required include but are not limited to;

  • Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word
    • Intermediate Excel functionality required – PIVOT Tables, Vlookup, basic statistical formulas, etc
  • Internet commerce tools (email, web-based fulfillment, EDI)Ability to extract and import data for analysis in Excel
  • Industry standard MRP (SAP, Oracle, Syteline, JD, etc) experience preferred
  • Progress language-based MRP experience helpful, but not required

Expected pay for this role is between $18.61 - $31.01 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
