Service Manager

Overview:

VPI is leader in commercial vinyl windows in North America and provides industry leading performance in the multi-family housing market.  The service team plays a critical role in VPI’s value proposition and is recognized for having the most technical and responsive service teams in the industry.  High performing products coupled with a strong sales & service teams have fueled our organization’s rapid growth across North America.

The Service Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of VPI service support in North America that delivers best in class care to our customers.

 

Responsibilities:

Safety

  • Represent and progress VPI’s commitment to safety Ensure all service team members are properly trained and adhering to safety protocols

Quality

  • Ensure all service work is being completed per specification.
  • Work closely with engineering and production to understand processes and requirements.

Customer Support

  • Work with internal & external service coordinators to support customer needs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate scheduling is completed for all service locations.
  • Manage on-site relationships with the general contractors or site contacts.
  • Identify, create & track productivity & cost reduction metrics & goals for both Departments Work with the Project Coordinators and Customer Care Manager to ensure timely response to any problems or issues that arise in the field.
  • Act as the main point of contact for any work being done in the field.
  • Work with Service Lead to oversee and train technicians for all water testing activities in the field.

Team development

  • Develop & coach service team both technically and how to interface with customer and job sites.
  • Work with the Service Technicians on principle job duties, safety & quality.
  • Observe work performance of each employee supervised on a monthly basis for compliance with established safety rules.

Requirements

  • Travel - Up to 20% travel may be required once it is safe again to travel per Jeldwen policy.

 

Experience:

  • Technical degree preferred.
  • Fenestration experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years warranty service technician experience or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of remote management experience.
