JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Production Specialist (2nd Shift) to join our growing team.

- VPI Quality Windows is a commercial division of JELD-WEN, Inc. that focuses on manufacturing windows and patio doors for multi-family construction with a particular focus on apartments, dormitories, senior living, and hotels.
Job Overview
- The Lead plays a critical role in supporting daily operations across Warehouse, Shipping, Assembly, and/or Final Processing. Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor/Manager, the Lead is responsible for guiding the team at start-up, reviewing prior day results, setting daily/weekly targets, and ensuring team readiness.
- This position emphasizes leadership, safety, quality, and productivity while driving team engagement and maintaining operational excellence through SQDCI boards, shift pass downs, and adherence to schedules.
- Production Specialist starts at $24.27/hr with benefits.

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Group Lead in the efficient operation of the department
- Actively support and participate in the company’s safety and health program.
- Ensure a safe working environment and enforce compliance with JELD-WEN policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Arrive 30 minutes before shift start to gather information for turnover.
- Operate various, more complex, door manufacturing equipment
- Interpret detailed order tags and production documentation to ensure execution of customer requirements
- Ensure standard work is consistently followed and filled out. This includes own and operator machine standard work.
- Verify the accuracy and completion of DIM logs.
- Maintain and monitor Lockout/Tagout boards, ensuring all locks, tags, and devices are correctly documented (LOTO check list), accounted for, and used in accordance with safety procedures
Position Requirements
- This role requires consistent physical activity throughout the shift, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with team assistance.
- Work may involve repetitive motions and working in a fast-paced assembly line manufacturing environment
- Employees must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per day on hard surfaces.
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and climbing may be required to access materials and operate equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret production paperwork and labels
- Ability to work in hot, humid environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using metrology instruments and recording inspection data
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times, and employees are expected to maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Overtime may be required, sometimes on short notice, to meet production goals.
- Must meet daily production rates while maintaining quality standards for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.

- Additional tasks may be assigned by the Supervisor or Manager as needed to support operations.
- Candidates must be comfortable working with both manual and powered tools commonly used in manufacturing and assembly environments. These include, but are not limited to:

Required Skills and Experience
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in production, manufacturing, warehouse, or shipping, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Lead, Supervisor, or equivalent leadership role.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve root causes systematically.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to maintain integrity, confidentiality, and a clear vision of business needs.
- Works well in a team environment with a diverse workforce.
- Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.

Expected pay for this role is between $24.99 to $37.49 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
