Are you looking to take your career to the next level within a Global business?  Exciting pan-European opportunity for an experienced Sourcing Category Manager to join our Sourcing Europe Team!

 

 As Sourcing Category Manager for Europe, you will assist in the in the continued development of a strong Sourcing function.  In this pivotal role, you will be supporting the sourcing and control of our current and future supplier base. This includes a high element of global supplier partners and the management of our Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to deliver a complete total cost management approach.

 

 Reporting to the Senior Category Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity to take something great and make it better.  This is a remote role and can be based at one of the locations in Europe, although there may be some occasional travel within Europe.  What your impact will be

 

  • A responsibility for annual budget, ongoing forecast, and reporting process within spend area(s)
  • Support the development and implementation of a clear sourcing strategy, including mitigation of risk in the supply chain, motivating/empowering people to deliver, whilst ensuring alignment with departmental and wider business goals
  • Ensure cost competitiveness, supporting annual budget requirements
  • Support with the development, and ensure timely execution of contract negotiations with targeted supplier
  • Responsibility for supplier selection/evaluation in accordance with the sourcing strategy, relationship/performance management and development (including make vs buy, supplier sourcing strategies, VA/VE)
  • Drive sourcing projects to reduce total cost of ownership on sourced material

 

What you'll need to succeed

 

  • 3+ Years of Category Management experience
  • Demonstrable evidence of working effectively and delivering results in a global organisation, balancing local and international requirements
  • Analytical and numbers driven
  • Excellent negotiation skills and adaptable to change
  • Commercially astute and able to develop a strategy to deliver strong performance against an inflationary market
  • Resilient, with the ability to take the lead on a topic(s) through challenging situations, driving improvements and performance to tight deadlines
  • Good communications skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels (internal and external)
