As an IT Support Technician - position based in Solihull, with travel to Sheffield site (Production), you will be responsible for level 1 and 2 support for all IT incidents and enhancement requests, change management and all infrastructure and network projects in Solihull. You will work under the direction of the Regional IT Operations Manager to prioritize and maintain service level agreements.

 

Your priorities will include managing the day-to-day support for European Leadership team and Solihull users (120 approx). You will be a key contributor to the maintenance of service level agreements and the implementation of the IT Operations deployment matrix in United Kingdom, including upgrades to local networks and IT environments. In addition, you will support the production teams in Sheffield by working on incidents and improvement requests when necessary.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide daily Level 1/2 support to Solihull users. A level 1 IT support is already present at the European level.
  • Network administration (Expertise in different aspects of this job such as the administration of different CISCO products (Switches/Wifi Terminals/IP Telephony))
  • Management, installation and maintenance of computer equipment (workstations, peripherals)
  • Administration and operation of servers (local and hosted)
  • Management support, installation, and maintenance of software
  • Assistance and technical support (hardware and software) to users
  • Management of backups on internal applications and servers
  • Introduction of IT resources to new users
  • Raising users' awareness of IT security and best practice rules
  • Management and maintenance of video projection and video conferencing facilities

 

Skills and qualifications:

 

  • 2/3+ years’ experience in European IT operations in a user support and customer facing environment
  • Foreign language appreciated
  • Ideally: ITIL certified Service Management with strong experience
  • Strong communication skills at all levels
  • Lead change management and delivery of best practice, best cost, pan-European IT operations in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of implementing different systems.
  • Autonomous and motivated
