We are looking for an EHS Manager for the UK and the Baltics to join our global organisation where you will be a key member of the Regional Leadership and European EHS Leadership team, travelling across the UK and the Baltics to support in delivering the European EHS strategy.

 

You will be enthusiastic, and passionate about the human, commercial and environmental aspects of health and safety and able to motivate local managers and drive change in the sites within your region.

 

You will have functional and technical knowledge in EHS performance and management controls enabling you to assign responsibility for tasks and decisions, monitor process, progress, and results.

 

We are looking for a powerful influencer to support decision making based on facts, with a hands-on approach to EHS Leadership and Management.

What your impact will be:

 

  • Develop and support the implementation of the European EHS strategy in your region.
  • Manage and develop a team of EHS Professionals in the regions to improve skills and competencies.
  • Plan, implement, and coordinate programmes to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, and environmental impact in line with European strategy.
  • Assist and support personnel in safety and environmental hazard assessment and implementation of effective control measures.
  • Develop and maintain manageable and effective auditing programmes to ensure compliance with environmental and H&S systems and procedures.
  • Oversee projects and initiatives in areas of responsibility to ensure EHS compliance.
  • Compile and evaluate incident statistics to identify trends to target risk reduction and monitor effectiveness of EHS strategy.
  • Compile EHS performance reports for area of responsibility for Operations Director/ Managing Director, Operational teams and European EHS Director.
  • Assess, challenge, and support the sites in your region to achieve their EHS goals.
  • Foster links between sites with mutual goals, setting up working groups for problem solving and improving management systems.
  • Raise opportunities to develop the EHS support functions effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop local EHS managers and identify high performers.

 

What you'll need to succeed:

 

  • Previous EHS experience working in a manufacturing environment or similar industry in an EHS Management role.
  • Professional qualification in Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management - NEBOSH Diploma or country specific equivalent.
  • A proven track record of successful delivery of HSE processes, policies and initiatives resulting in improved standards and behavioural change, with the ability to adopt a strategic approach.
  • Proficient IT skills, presenting skills, report writing, statistical analysis and development of training packages.
  • Experienced in the management of multiple sites, across different countries preferable.
  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • Can be located in the UK (Sheffield, Penrith, Solihull) or in the Baltics (Latvia or Estonia) but must be willing to travel to support all sites within the Region.
