Exceptional opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Director for Europe.

 

Your role:

 

This integral Pan-European role will define a structured manufacturing strategy and implementation schedule from current state to desired state for Europe Operations.

 

The objective of the Continuous Improvement Director is to identify, lead and deploy Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives across the European plants and business groups to deliver quantified bottom-line performance improvement.  You will be responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and analysing operational inefficiencies, conducting fact-based analysis and problem solving by leveraging data analytics to optimise organisational performance and achieve strategic objectives.

 

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, Europe, you will be leading Operations to deliver the desired state by prioritising and coordinating required activities across the regions. Develop footprint and investment requirements to establish Centres of Excellence that will enable business growth in line with Product Management and Sales direction.

What your impact will be:

 

  • Business Insight – Apply knowledge of the business and the marketplace to advance the organisation’s goals
  • Customer Focus – Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer centric solutions
  • Identify and deliver a pipeline of CI activities and savings projects that realises 5% cost reduction year-on-year (versus prior year CoGS)
  • Deliver net 3% year-on-year productivity improvement (versus prior year CoGS) from the established project pipeline including the impact of inflation and B&L
  • Establish a Continuous Improvement culture that embeds standardisation, discipline to process, compliance, and improvement into daily business
  • Define European Manufacturing strategy in line with business strategy and growth opportunities
  • Deliver prioritised implementation of Manufacturing strategy in line with Product Management and Sales direction
  • Effective deployment of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, business process assessment, planning, facilitation and execution of Kaizen events, and the systemic improvement of standard work practices and procedures
  • Cultivate Innovation – Create new and better ways for the organisation to be successful

 

What you'll need to succeed:

 

  • Results-oriented Change-Agent, a skilled facilitator adept at influencing, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Experience working within a Matrixed environment
  • Experience of CI activities in manufacturing environment using Lean techniques including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Standard Work Cellular Flow, Mistake Proofing, Total Productive Maintenance
  • Experience of driving organisational and cultural change
  • Experience of defining and delivering significant strategic activity
  • Knowledge of Strategy Deployment: X-Matrix
  • Financial Acumen – Interpret and apply understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions
  • Manage Complexity – Make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
  • Global Perspective – Take a broad view when approaching issues using a global lens.
  • Degree in an Engineering or Technology
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt / Champion preferred
  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English.   A second language is preferred but not essential
  • Ability to travel to European JELD-WEN sites
