JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Manager, Business Development to join our growing team. 

 

The Role: 

 

A Commercial Door Project Manager oversees all aspects of multi-family, commercial door, frame, and hardware projects, from estimation and submittals through closeout. This role involves managing project timelines and budgets, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring projects adhere to delivery and quality standards. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Project lifecycle management: Manage all project phases from quoting through closeout, ensuring all deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • Technical expertise: Must be proficient in using Ponderosa, Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook. Must have the ability to reference and present manufacturer specifications when required for submittal purposes
  • Estimating and budgeting: Develop project quotes and schedules, create and manage budgets, and process all orders/change orders to ensure the project remains profitable.
  • Stakeholder coordination: Provide technical knowledge to all stakeholders. Act as the primary point of contact for our dealer customers, vendors, and internal teams. Coordinate schedules with shop, shipping, and job site contacts to ensure smooth operations. Participation in Weekly Project Team meetings is required. Acts as liaison with Outside Sales.
  • Procurement: Work with suppliers, purchasing, and vendors to secure materials, obtain and submit product information, manage lead times, and shipping details.
  • Problem-solving and risk management: Address customer concerns, identify potential scheduling issues, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Documentation and reporting: Maintain organized project documentation, including reports and submittals, and providing updates as needed to all stakeholders. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in inside sales and/or project management within the door, frame, and hardware industry. Multi-Family experience is preferred.
  • Industry knowledge: In-depth knowledge of door systems, hardware, and installation techniques, including unit entry fire rated doors, interior pre-hung doors, and patio doors. Experience in hollow metal, architectural wood doors, and Division 8 specifications is a plus.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Technical abilities: Proficiency in reading architectural blueprints and specifications, as well as experience with relevant software such as project management tools, Ponderosa ERP software, and Microsoft 365.
  • Organizational skills: Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving: Ability to identify issues proactively and implement effective solutions. 

 

Education:

 

  • An Associate’s degree or certification in construction management, project management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Significant industry experience may be substituted for a degree.
