We are looking for a Production Manager to join our leadership team based on-site at Sheffield. You will be a key player in driving positive transformation throughout the site as well as supporting and sustaining a continous improvement culture whilst also developing and implementing initiatives to meet the orgnaisations requirements, including detailed production scheduling and tracking to drive performance and productivity.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Schedule adherence, visual factory
  • Pro-active approach to ‘Quality’ management through QIO generation, creating a culture of ‘Quality first time every time’.
  • Ownership for the management hourly boards and standard work
  • Leading and driving problem solving and continuous improvement activities
  • Manage team member’s performance and contributions, including absenteeism and discipline
  • Identify new projects to deliver continuous improvement, lean culture and productivity
  • Building team member skills, capabilities gap analysis including maintaining skills matrix and impact flexibility and contributions.
  • Attending daily reviews and the necessary business cadence including layered audits
  • Resource planning, budgetary accountability, KPIs and communications
  • OEE, TCOQ, Net Productivity, Labour Utilisation, WIP, JEM Maturity Assessment will all be key measures of success


Background/ Knowledge Required:


  • Previous experience of a ‘SAFETY FIRST’ culture with a zero tolerance and continuous safety improvement mentality or equivalent is desirable, however not essential
  • Previous experience of a ‘Quality’ management culture or equivalent is desirable, not essential
  • Previous experience of working in a medium to large manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience of leading a large team with varying levels of skills and experience
  • Experience working within a disciplined and system-controlled environment.
  • Experience of working with a SQDCIP (or equivalent) production management
  • Previous experience of working in a Trade Union environment
  • Ideally educated to at least degree level in engineering/manufacturing or associated discipline with several years plant leadership experience.
  • Have the highest of personal standards with an ability to mentor and promote improvement through Lean techniques such as value stream mapping, 5s, standard work cellular flow, mistake proofing, total productive maintenance
