There will be a paid initial training period for this role which will last 8 weeks and will be Monday – Friday.



This role is for weekend shift - 24 hours per week, 12 hours per day.


Keep the personnel safe.


Set the standards for production, organise operational activities, deliver targets in keeping with SQDCIP goals and provide leadership to your team and other colleagues as needed. Role model behaviours in line with the JELD-WEN values.


Make continuous improvement standard practice to deliver quantified performance improvement. Educate, develop a continuous improvement culture, and inspire team members towards betterment and achievement.


Drive positive transformation throughout the site, build and mentor effective teams and drive employee engagement, involvement, and development. Safety, Quality and Productivity will be at the heart of all you do.


You will ensure that your respective departments has a “win the hour, win the day” mentality and support your Value Stream Manager in developing a career roadmap for those talented individuals with the appetite to grow within our business


To ensure that all employees are working to their full potential, adhering to all works rules / policies and standards. Communicating openly, promptly and professionally at all times.



  • Safety management through safety audits and SIO generation (Safety Improvement Opportunities), creating a culture of ‘safety first.’ You may be the senior emergency responder
  • Ensure full compliance of Health and Safety procedures including SOP adherence and incident investigations.
  • Conduct safety awareness meetings, deliver tool box talks and encourage all employees to report all safety issues, reminding them of their right to stop work and the lifesaving rules.
  • Sustain good housekeeping standards through 5s Audits and other JEM tools (JELD-WEN Excellence Model.)
  • Pro-active approach to Quality management through a culture of ‘right first time’ ensuring a data driven approach to problem solving.
  • Ensure compliance to production schedules.
  • Take ownership for the compliance and management of hourly boards
  • Actively participate in capturing and closing out 3C SQDCIP actions.
  • To follow leader standard work to deliver SQDCIP targets.
  • Provide shift handover to the oncoming Group Manager, delivering a concise summary of our performance and any escalations.
  • Lead daily communications with the teams to feedback KPI’s, brief safe working practices and advise shift planning.
  • Lead and manage team member’s performance and contributions, including appraisals, 1-2-1’s, holidays, absenteeism, discipline and grievance situations in accordance with Company Policies.
  • Take ownership for team member training to enhance skills and capabilities for your area.
  • Maintain team members skills matrix and carry out and deliver capabilities / gap analysis for your area to improve shift flexibility.



  • Previous experience of a ‘SAFETY FIRST’ culture with a zero tolerance and continuous safety improvement mentality
  • Previous experience of a ‘Quality culture of ‘RIGHT FIRST TIME’
  • Previous experience of working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience of organising, leading and training others
  • Experience of working with a SQDCIP (or equivalent) production management system is desirable
  • An IOSH managing safety qualification would be an advantage, but not essential
  • Good computer skills required and experience of basic business software


There will be an initial training period for this role which will last 8 weeks and will be Monday – Friday.
