Fabrication Apprentice
Hours of work 8:00-16:00 Monday to Friday
£9.50 per hour
Are you looking for a route into engineering? Do you have transferable skills and looking for a new opportunity? We are now looking for a Fabrication Apprentice to join our team in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn fabrication activities (folding, welding, machining, punching, cutting, drilling & assembly) and to develop a recognised trade for life.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attendance at training provider as required in line with qualification
- Contributing to safety audits and SIO generation (Safety Improvement Opportunities), creating a culture of ‘safety first.’
- Ensuring full compliance of Health and Safety procedures including SOP adherence, PPE and Workwear and incident investigations.
- Reporting any safety issues promptly, reinforcing policies to others where needed and reminding them of their right to stop work and the Jeld Wen lifesaving rules.
- Ensuring that Maintenance systems are fully utilised to optimise performance.
- Implementation of Risk Assessments and support of HASSARD assessments.
- Sustaining good housekeeping standards and ensuring compliance to production schedules.
- Actively participating in capturing and closing out 3C SQDCIP actions.
- Shifts operate Monday – Friday 08:00 – 16:00
Experience and Background Requirements
- Safety and quality conscious
- Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment is desirable
- Previous experience of working flexibly, conducting basic problem solving
- Experience of working with a SQDCIP (or equivalent) production management system is desirable
- Good computer skills required and experience of basic business software
