Here at JELD-WEN UK, a global organisation that produces and manufactures Doors and Doorsets, we’re looking for a Doorsets Estimator to join our existing team. Working from our site in Sheffield UK you will support the Sales and Operations teams by interpreting customer requirements, technical specifications, and architectural drawings to generate cost-effective and compliant estimates.

 

The Doorsets Estimator role would suit someone who has previous Estimating experience, with relevant building regulations, product, enquiries, ordering & estimating knowledge. In this fast paced and varied role, you will build solid relationships with our buying customers and consult with clients, consultants, technical experts, and internal departments.

 

You will be keen to work onsite, alongside our internal teams to analyse drawings, specifications and other documentation during the preparation of estimates/bids and be highly motivated, working towards defined sales targets for orders and conversion.

What your impact will be:

 

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial Doorsets, including materials, hardware, and labour.
  • Apply pricing structures and margin targets in line with company policy.
  • Interpret architectural drawings, door schedules, and specifications to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve any inconsistencies or missing information in customer documentation.
  • Liaise with internal sales teams and customers to clarify requirements and provide technical input.
  • Respond to quote-related queries and provide revisions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all quotes, revisions, and correspondence.
  • Ensure all documentation is stored in accordance with company procedures.
  • Participate in handover meetings to ensure a smooth transition from quote to order.
  • Communicate clearly with scheduling and production teams to align expectations.
  • Contribute to the development of estimating tools, templates, and pricing databases.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and turnaround time.
  • Stay informed about product developments, industry standards, and regulatory changes.
  • Attend training sessions and technical briefings as required.

 

What you'll need to succeed:

 

  • Previous experience of relevant building regulations, products, enquiries, orders & estimating preferred.
  • Previous experience of the building industry would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience of working directly with customers.
  • Excellent IT skills for analysis and a good working knowledge of Excel would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience of working within specific guidelines and to set timescales and deadlines.
  • Previous experience with Salesforce preferred.
