Due to expansion, we are now looking to add a Continuous improvement practitioner to our Sheffield Teams. 



About this role:


We are looking for someone with a background in Lean Manufacturing who can influence, inspire, and drive a grass roots cultural shift towards a lean manufacturing environment. You will be required to spend equal time out on the factory floor, coaching mentoring and educating and reporting progress. 




Your responsibilities:


  • Pro-active safety approach by identifying safety improvement opportunities.
  • Deliver weekly, monthly & quarterly kaizen events of differing scales & expectations.
  •  Manage the transition from product controls to process controls as part of our “Door 2 Quality” programme 
  • Contribute to delivering a minimum of 3% year on year net productivity savings and 5% worth of validated productivity projects on a rolling 12-month basis.   
  • Contribute towards our 100% JEM Assessment goal for end of 2023.
  • A key contributor in transforming Sheffield into a flagship example of lean transformation within Jeld-Wen globally
  • Deliver sustainable improvement through joint deployment of product quality standards and the continuous improvement of these standards through system compliance and demonstrable 3c prioritisation and achievement.
  • A key contributor to the Sheffield CI Team creating and developing training material, sharing knowledge, and leading standardisation.
  • Support Continuous Improvement through coaching and developing teams to deliver 5s campaigns to targets and demonstrate 5s expansion as part of daily cadence.
  • Contribute to the site lean capabilities through effective training, mentoring, and coaching to build effective matrix teams and drive employee engagement, involvement, and deployment.

  • A total SAFETY FIRST mentality, understanding and culture.
  • The ability to maximise the contributions from team members whilst treating people with respect.
  • Have the highest of personal standards with an ability to mentor and promote improvement.
  • Problem Solving root cause analysis
  • Process change control, Failure Modes Effect Analysis
  • Intimate and extensive understanding of SQDCIP or equivalent.
  • Project Management
  • Good communication skills across all levels of the business.
  • Excellent IT and analysis skills and capabilities.
