Are you an experinced chef/ canteen supervisor and looking for a new permanent role? We are currently looking for someone to manage our new canteen at our site in Sheffield.

 

Key Duties are:

 

  • Food ordering and stock control including wastage avoidance
  • Direct supervision of the canteen assistant(s) for the allocation of duties and associated workload and KPI’s
  • Food preparation and service within the canteen facility and site events
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the canteen kitchen facility and equipment. This includes but not limited to emptying bins, cleaning down work surfaces, food preparation area, equipment, fixtures and fittings, basic maintenance of the internal equipment.
  • Ensure all cooking and cleaning equipment and materials are handled and stored safely and correctly
  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment; ensure all operations are performed in a safe way to ensure compliance with Health & Safety at Work
  • Preparing menus, SOP’s and cleaning procedures
  • Responsible for achieving and maintaining a 5-star hygiene rating
  • Taking payments via a POS system and keeping the plant controller up to date with financial information
  • Must have the highest standards of customer service
  • Maintain hygiene, food safety and fire safety certificates to currently standards
  • May be required to work some statutory holidays and overtime.

 

Experience:

 

  • Supervisory experience
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Experience working within a catering environment
  • Good understanding of food hygiene standards
  • Relative knowledge and experience
  • Ability to remain focused and calm under pressure
  • Qualified in catering to City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent
