Here at JELD-WEN UK, a global organisation that produces and manufactures Doors and Doorsets, we’re looking for a CI Leader, a new role as part of our existing team. Working from our site in Sheffield UK you will be responsible for driving operational excellence across the organisation by supporting teams to identify improvement opportunities, solve problems, and embed sustainable change.
JELD-WEN Sheffield – currently located on the Retford Road, but soon to be relocating to a new facility, a modern design with sustainability features and excellent transport links at Bessemer Park.

The CI Leader supports the development of a continuous improvement culture through facilitation, coaching, data-driven analysis and the deployment of CI tools, methodologies and activities.

What your impact will be:
- Exemplifying the ‘5 Principles of Lean’; challenging norms, approaching every problem as an opportunity, and demonstrating our core value of Improve Every Day in all forms of work.
- Training, coaching & driving a 5S culture throughout the site.
- Training, coaching & championing basic Problem-Solving activities with the operational teams to stabilise performance and enable teams to effectively manage deviations to plan.
- Facilitation of Kaizen activities that will enable performance step-change, build trust/ engagement from our employees and ultimately deliver our strategic goals.
- Support the delivery of cost-driven Productivity Improvement projects with financially confirmed/ realised savings.
- Maintenance, support and utilisation of business-critical Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data to identify opportunities for improvement (OFIs) for either Kaizen activities or Productivity projects.
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify process inefficiencies and develop effective resolutions (BAU).
- Ensure improvements are embedded, standardised, and sustained through effective control plans, documentation & visual management.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Recent experience of working in a high-volume manufacturing or production business.
- Lean/ Six sigma qualification (Green Belt equivalent or higher) desirable.
- Facilitation of Kaizen activities (1-2 days) and/or Improvement Workshops (3-5 days).
- Successful delivery of project-based improvements utilising DMAIC, A3 or similar format.
- Involvement in 5S initiatives within an operational environment which contributed to growth in the culture/ mindset of our employees.
- Planning, preparation & delivery of structured training sessions/ workshops; ideally related to either 5S, Problem Solving or Standardised Work.
- Safety-First mindset: comfortable challenging unsafe conditions/ behaviours, taking responsibility for others safety & well-being as much as your own, a IOSH certification is desirable.
- Strong facilitation & coaching skills; comfortable guiding/ controlling groups of up to 15/20 delegates.
- Positive, tenacious & open-minded; requires minimal supervision, driven to see things through and is comfortable with constructive criticism and feedback.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at any/ all levels.
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office (particularly excel, Power BI beneficial).
