CAD Draftsman

Then you might be our new CAD Draftsman at JELD-WEN.

This role will be focused on maintaining current core and creating new product ranges within our UK portfolio and supporting our growth strategy. As a member of the R&D team you will work closely with R&D Engineers, Product Management, Sales, Marketing and Operations to understand the requirements of our customers.

You will generate and maintain configurable 2D and 3D models to support production, creating approved, robust and accurate records in PDM & PLM. If you aren’t already experienced in the creation of BIM Objects, then we will support you in developing your skillset with training available to produce/manage BIM Objects.

You will be results oriented and self-driven, have excellent time management, prioritisation and collaboration skills and thrive on engaging with people across different departments to achieve success.

What your impact will be:

• Create and maintain all 2D and 3D models/drawing files in SolidWorks/Autodesk Inventor.
• Key focus on generating configurable CAD models to improve efficiency.
• Restructure and manage our EPDM database.
• Engage with production to ensure correct CNC programs reflect design intent accurately.
• Create or work with internal/external partners to generate BIM objects.
• Develop a deep understanding of the design, specification, and performance of our products and understand our operational capability and limitations.
• Have knowledge and experience working in accordance with ISO 9001 and 14001 procedures.

What you'll need to succeed:

• Previous experience as a CAD Draftsman or equivalent role.
• Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor.
• Previous experience required in PLM integrations.
• Any knowledge or experience of BIM is desirable.
• Detail orientated, exceptionally well organised and able to multitask.
• Able to work collaboratively across different departments in different regions.
• Experience in the Manufacturing sector or in the Joinery / Fenestration industry.
• Ability to develop a thorough understanding/knowledge of Building Regulations and latest standards applicable to our products.
