American Building Supply (ABS), a subsidiary of JELD-WEN, one of the nation's largest wholesale suppliers of Doors, Door Hardware, Windows, and Millwork, is currently seeking an Engineering Technician to be able to create CNC Router programs, CAD drawings and material cut lists to support the production in our Millennium Doors and Aluminum Frames divisions.  The successful candidate will also be someone with strong attention to detail and willingness to tackle challenges outside of the daily processes.

Position Responsibility:

  • Computer Aided Drawing designer / CNC router programmer
    • Create product engineering drawings for Aluminum Frames and Millennium doors for both external and internal customers
    • Create and maintain CNC router programs for product lines in Millennium, Aluminum Frames, and American Series Molded Core
    • Create and maintain machining templates for KVAL machinery
  • Build Material cut lists
    • Using available software tools, create part lists and cut lists for production of Aluminum Frames and Millennium Doors
  • Subject Matter expert regarding construction techniques, limitations and correct applications for Millennium and American Series doors as well as Architectural Frames
  • Work with engineering, ops and sales teams on research and development projects to create new profiles and designs
  • Work on special projects geared at promoting ABS / JELD-WEN products



  • Experiance with Autocad or other CAD platforms
  • Exposure to CNC machinery either in wood working or aluminum applications
  • Experiance with CNC programming tools such as Alphacam, Kval, or Fomcam
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Commitment to educating themselves in unfamiliar areas relevant to their responsibilities

Other Requirements:  Must possess a California driver’s license, Must be willing to work in exposure to noise, extreme change in temperature and may be required to work varied shifts.
