JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our growing team.

 

THE ROLE

The Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible to support all departments on their continuous improvement (CI) Journey. Lead and support the Quality Program across the site.  Individual must be professional, have a good attitude, a strong work ethic, along with a desire to learn and teach CI concepts and processes. 

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting and supporting the implementation of process improvements throughout the company.
  • Learn, utilize, and teach CI processes.
  • Assist in creating/maintaining standard operating procedures and/or work instructions.
  • Mentor team members during continuous improvement and QA activities and/or projects.
  • In charge of the incoming inspection program.
  • Perform Quality Audits and implement solutions.
  • Facilitate the Fire-rated product program and be incompliance as per the NAMi certification requirements.
  • Assist and/or lead problem solving projects to include manufacturing, safety, quality.
  • Assist with and help organize CI and Quality events: SQDCI and Hour by Hour boards, value stream mapping, 5S, Kanban, Kaizen, TPM.
  • In charge of maintaining information and data via spreadsheets and charts.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain and update the employee suggestion program.
  • Assist in other duties as requested by Management.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Able to use different measurements instruments to perform Quality Inspections.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Product and service knowledge, and comprehension of material and process flow.
  • Computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Email, TITAN, etc.).
  • Ability to work and function as a team member with a wide variety of people.
  • Basic hours will be between 7:00am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday but the position will require flexibility, weekend work, and overtime hours upon request.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Technical degree preferred but not required.
  • Prior QA related experience preferred but not required.
  • Prior Door or wood-product experience preferred but not required.

Expected pay for this role is between $21.92 to $36.54 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
