Summary

Under direct supervision, the General Production position performs repetitive production support operations using hand tools and associated machinery and equipment to assist in the manufacturing and of JELD-WEN products and all other JELD-WEN related building products.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, or tend welding machines.
• Operate saws, punches, drills or drill press machines.
• Set & glaze glass units in frames/sashes.
• Assemble various parts to complete quality finished windows & or patio doors.
• Applying labels, cleaning finished product & checking for proper operation.
• May be required to operate hand tools such as chisel, snips, drill, mallet or tape measure.
• Read work orders and production schedules to determine product or job instructions and specifications.
• Transfer components, plastic products, and assemblies, using moving equipment.
• Perform repetitive type assembly functions using hand or power tools, and applicable machinery and equipment.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative, but not all inclusive, of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Ability to stand for minimum 10 hours per shift. The employee must occasionally and/or frequently lift and/or move stock, materials, and unfinished and finished production-oriented materials in and near their work areas that weigh between 10 and 75 pounds. Reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will be reviewed and considered on a case-by case basis.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and machines, vibrations, and loud noises. All safety protocols including OSHA guidelines as mentioned above are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must be Adaptable, Reliable, Detail oriented, Energetic & Safety minded.
• Must be able to work on your feet all day in a fast-paced production environment.
• Must have reliable transportation & ability to work unexpected overtime.
• Manufacturing/Production experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
