JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Coordinating Group Manager to join our growing team.

 

The Role

Under the direct supervision of the Production Manager, the Coordinating Group Manager is responsible for managing and implementing all production operations and shop activities through a team of functional Group Managers, working also with the Plant Manager, Assistant Plant Manager (Where applicable). This role is crucial in driving the company's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and supporting continuous improvement initiatives aligned with JELD-WEN's Mission Statement. The position involves direct leadership of production teams, ensuring operational efficiency, quality control, and adherence to safety standards

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement shop floor activities following established procedures and processes.
  • Provide direct leadership to Group Managers and their subordinates in production areas.
  • Act as a liaison between upper management and hourly employees, providing feedback.
  • Supervise all production and support operations, driving KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and manage team member performance based on KPIs.
  • Ensure team activities and equipment are maintained according to production goals.
  • Assist in monitoring overall plant performance for production and quality control standards.
  • Maintain plant facilities and equipment, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Provide leadership and training to achieve plant goals and objectives.
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing safety awareness programs and addressing safety issues.
  • Assist in performance evaluations of staff and proactive actions for subordinate personnel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in a related field and 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the window and door industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, to be determined by plant management.
  • 5-7 years of applicable work experience in manufacturing, to be determined by plant management.
  • 7-10 years of applicable work experience in the window and door industry, to be determined by plant management.
  • Knowledge of raw materials for door and window applications.
  • Fundamental knowledge of production and manufacturing process improvement techniques.
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, technical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong team skills, including coaching and developing work teams.
  • Ability to motivate and empower others, resolve conflict, and understand management principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of JELD-WEN's Mission Statement and corporate goals.
  • Strong knowledge of door and window production machines and tools.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple priorities daily.
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
