American Building Supply (ABS), a subsidiary of Jeld Wen, and one of the Nation’s largest wholesale suppliers of Doors, Door Hardware, Windows, and Millwork, currently has a General Production position available in our Rerail Dept. - to assist our Distribution division in providing value-added goods and services to our customers.

General description of duties:

• Inspects damaged and/or returned doors and millwork products to determine appropriate handling
• Repairs damaged and/or returned door and millwork product. Processes may include cutting, sanding, routing, applying bondo, beveling, boring, chiseling, drilling, de-burring, gluing, clamping etc.
• Operates typical woodworking machinery including chop saw, table saw, nail gun, sander, jointer, planer, shaper, etc.
• Vertical trim saw
• Panel saw
• High powered router blades
• Gluing styles onto doors
• Cleans, maintains, adjusts, calibrates and services equipment used in the performance of duties
• Ensures that all returned/damaged product is properly categorized
• Works with multiple departments in the coordination of all repair work
• Performs quality control inspection of finished product to ensure it is repaired to proper specifications
• Properly disposes of unusable material
• Maintains company standards of cleanliness, organization and housekeeping
• Adheres to safe work practices
• Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of hand, power and air tools effectively
• Ability to read and use a standard tape measure
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift heavy material
• Ability to read and understand simple diagrams and/or blueprints
• Can perform simple mathematics

Previous experience in a manufacturing or similar environment is preferred, but not required.
