American Building Supply (ABS), a subsidiary of JELD-WEN, and one of the Nation’s largest wholesale suppliers of Doors, Door Hardware, Windows, and Millwork, currently has a position available for Product Line Manager to assist our Manufacturing and Distribution Divisions in providing value-added goods and services to our customers.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Residential Products, the Product Line Manager is responsible for managing existing products, new product development, product line growth, and the day-to-day management of initiatives within the product lines manufactured at the various JELD-WEN facilities and vendor partners distributed through JELD-WEN Distribution locations. This position works closely with team members of the marketing departments, sales, sales support, operations, inventory management, and JELD-WEN corporate product teams to ensure continuity in product offering and company goals and objectives.    


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 


  • Manage product lines and become a subject matter expert in areas of ownership.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key performance metrics to the organization and appropriate senior management on the assigned product lines and individual product performance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Plan, lead, and actively manage initiatives, projects, and the process of introducing new products and suppliers to the market while developing marketing strategies for profitably gaining market share.   
  • Conduct regular competitive/market analysis and stay current with relevant changes and trends in the industry.
  • Perform competitive research to determine new market opportunities and positioning strategies.
  • Collaborate in a cross functional environment with sales, operations, reliability, and marketing communications to implement new product designs and features in a timely manner.
  • Establish cost targets and participate in product pricing and sales forecasting.
  • Recognize new business opportunities and lead effort to justify new investments.
  • Work closely with product sales on strategy and implementation.
  • Provide business development support and technical expertise to sales team.    
  • Work with the marketing team to develop marketing collateral materials.
  • Interface regularly with senior management for product line reviews.
  • Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, including Reliability Managers and Continuous Improvement personnel on product integrity, sustainability, and efficiency.
  • Comply with all JELD-WEN corporate guidelines on marketing and business ethics, in accordance with Company Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field and five (5) years relevant experience in product management. A combination of education and experience can be considered.
  • Experience within doors, windows, or building materials industry strongly preferred.
  • Technical understanding of product applications.
  • Demonstrated product management and product marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting product productivity analysis, formulating conclusions, and making recommendation to management.
  • E-Commerce experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to function effectively in an environment with rapidly shifting priorities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to train, coach, and collaborate with personnel to achieve objectives.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in financial analysis and budgeting.   
  • Knowledge of business, finance, and management principles.
  • General knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance.
  • Basic knowledge of continuous improvement techniques, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and SQDCI.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and position applicable JELD-WEN software.
  • Travel: 25% to 40%.
