  • You must have prior success selling products you can demonstrate, through distribution, to purchasers and senior managers, in a competitive and growing market environment
  • You are comfortable working in a sales channel where you both do and do not make a direct sale, but you pull products through to your dealers and contractors
  • You sell value instead of price, have great listening and questioning skills, are likable and develop strong relationships easily, and you excel at displacing incumbents
  • Experience with building materials sales, exterior trim, siding, and decking, contracting, architecture, lumberyards, channel sales, consultative selling, or selling any product that can be demonstrated and doesn’t sell itself is very helpful but not required
  • Travel within territory usually four days per week, including air travel. Must have prior income of at least $90,000 and a strong desire for growth.

Main Responsibilities:

- Drive builder awareness, trial and preference;

- Meet revenue and profit goals for defined geographic territory by growing and maintaining market share while supporting contribution margin goals;

- Meet awareness and product education goals for defined customer groups;

- Effectively and aggressively manage complex sales relationships – distributor, dealer, builder and specifier-based on value selling; (this product must be sold and requires that you tell the story; the team that you manage as a RSM is actually the outside sales team for distribution and dealers within the product supply chain);

- Broaden brand awareness in the market to several levels in the supply chain;

-Launch new products and line extensions;

- Prefer 5 years selling experience to a builder or through two-step building materials channel in the territory;

- Demonstrated success at selling differentiated products, understanding and communicating manufacturing technologies and testing protocols and showcasing them in a variety of presentations – formal AIA CEU all the way to the jobsite presentation;

- Strong relationship building skills;

- Adept at managing a lead pipeline and consistent in managing issues to resolution; consider self a good closer;

- Strong negotiation skills; ability to develop, execute and track programs through the channel to the end user;

- Experience with SFDC preferred;

- High energy, self-starter, driven to succeed because you like to win.


Measures of Performance:

- Attainment of Building Products revenue and contribution margin goals; customer profitability measured by customer

- Stocking dealer platform – closing new business

- Business process excellence – business planning, forecasting, territory management reporting

- Ability to craft information into insights and apply to execution of the team strategy

- Title:  Regional Sales Manager

- Base salary, participation in sales incentive commission plan

- Reports to VP/General Manager
