  1. BASIC FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for generating profitable sales, maintaining existing accounts while developing new business, and meeting defined sales targets by effectively selling VPI Quality Windows’ entire line of products within an assigned geographic territory.

                                                                                                                                                               

  1. PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Meet assigned unit and dollar volume targets.
  • Maintain an accurate sales forecast and log all sales-related activities and events into sales database on a daily basis.
  • Adhere to VPI’s sales methodology, follow all established policies and procedures and demonstrate a high level of proficiency with all sales tools that are provided.
  • Effectively manage expenses.
  • Serve as a company representative to fulfill the needs of VPI’s customers and affiliates in an assigned territory.
  • Act as the primary liaison between customers, internal VPI departments and 3rd party vendors to ensure accurate communication is being delivered at all phases of a job.
  • Strategically develop and maintain customer relationships to ensure optimal growth in assigned territory.
  • Evaluate market needs and trends in order to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Effectively manage time to follow-up and meet with prospective clients, existing customers and key role players to help generate business.
  • Be proficient with relevant building codes, testing standards, manufacturing process, industry developments, LEED credentials and competitor information.

 

  1. WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Occasional exposure to weather while performing customer site visits.  
  • Office and warehouse environment.
  • 75% travel is required.

 

  1. SCHEDULING:

This position is regularly scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Hours vary as required.

 

  1. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Skills:

  • Must be comfortable in all business settings from the jobsite to the boardroom.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting aggressive sales objectives.
  • Must be able to regularly work extended hours and travel in the territory an average of 75% of the time.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize consultative selling strategies and tactics in a competitive sales environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, presentation, and problem solving skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Clean Department of Motor Vehicle record.

 

      Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business or a technically related field or equivalent.
  • Combination of education and technical/professional experience. 
  • 2 - 3 years sales experience in a related field.
