Company Summary:

  • MMI Door is part of the Distribution division of JELD-Wen, Inc. We have supplied home centers and building supply dealers with exterior, interior, commercial doors and other related millwork products for over 60 years enabling MMI Door to become the largest wholesale millwork distributor in the Midwest. With 3 locations servicing all or portions of the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic states, MMI Door’s market area stretches from the Midwest area to the Atlantic Shore. Our product lines are available through most major building supply dealers and home centers within that geography.


Job Summary:

  • The Outside Sales Representative (OSR)is responsible for selling Corporate products or services through achievement of opportunity-based sales quotas.  The OSR will reach his or her business targets through effective management of designated territories and physical visits to customer sites.  This individual will also develop ongoing, profitable relationships with customers and continually maintain a professional image of the company.  Integrity, passion and in-person presentation skills are essential for this role. Territory is located in the Midwest region.
  • Job requirements include calling on Builder Supply and Home Center accounts.


Required Skills:

  • Professional verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively in writing
  • Math, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Ability to prioritize and stay on task
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and reports
  • Maintain accurate records, including sales call reports, expense reports, billing invoices and other documentation
  • Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory in a time-efficient manner
  • Blueprint reading and Estimating
  • Familiar with and have a basic working knowledge of MS Office ie. Word, Excel
  • Must have proven experience in group presentations and have excellent organization & time management skills.
  • Must be able to handle negotiations and conflict resolution
  • Familiar with construction techniques and have an ability to trouble shoot field service issues related to door installations
  • Applicants must be able to pass a motor vehicle background check, which includes a clean driving record


Working conditions:

  • Frequent travel is required, often up to several hours of driving per day
  • Ability to travel, attend, and conduct presentations
  • Manual dexterity required to use laptop computer and peripherals
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50lbs
  • Exposure to variable weather conditions is likely
