Summary:  Responsible for implementing and maintaining plant technology infrastructure. Support efficient data management and communication including Syspro ERP and related systems.  Monitor operational requirements, research strategies and technology solutions, and builds the most cost-effective and efficient system to achieve business unit goals in cooperation with Jeld-Wen corporate goals and objectives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 


  • Manage development of business applications
  • Manage and secure all business data utilized for data analytics by the business
  • Develop software and/or provide quality assurance for software developed in house and by third party developers
  • Manage both internal and external software developers and IT support personnel
  • Implement best practice software development strategy that ensures quality, speed, and desired functionality of applications
  • Work directly with Program Management and Project Managers to create integrated technology solutions that merge disparate systems
  • Support and integrate data between disparate systems and ERP solution
  • Lead and troubleshoot resolution of IT issues or failures
  • Requirements: work as a liaison among stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems.
  • Effectively help the functional business area in managing a portfolio of business projects and assist in effective prioritization of IT projects that need to be executed. (Assisting with the business case, high level feasibility studies). Also report status of on-going prioritized projects to the functional and IT leadership.



Competencies:  To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:


  • Database management: current DBA certification and/or recent experience demonstrating comparable ability
  • Software development (e.g., C#,, VB, SQL, Java)
  • Experience working with ERP solution implementations; SYSPRO preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly desired.
  • Business Processes: Provides expertise in the modeling/mapping of business processes, conducts as-is/to-be business processes, is instrumental in the business process re-engineering (BPR) and is involved in the change management process
  • Project Management: a good understanding of Project Management methodologies and ability to manage smaller projects.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
  • Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.



Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in business management, statistics, mathematics, accounting, computer science or equivalent; seven plus years related experience and/or training in system analysis; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
