JOB TITLE: Carpenter
REPORTS/SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Product Development Supervisor
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Product Development Shop Supervisor, the Product Development Technician 3 is responsible for all the support functions of the Product Development Department. The PDT3 serves as one of the technical resources in the development of new product and in the development of installation processes and custom product manufacturing. Supports manufacturing with custom products, product support and task in support of company growth. The PDT3 will take part in product testing of new and existing product lines before they are sold to market. This position requires a high attention to detail, with shop and project organization in mind. It is necessary that the PDT3 must have an on hands attitude to fill this role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build prototypes of new products and improvement concepts
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, blue prints and as build drawings
- Responsible for conducting testing of products in conjunction with Fenestration Lab
- Develop standard product work procedures and installation procedures
- Manufacturing support
- Assist Quality Control with testing and analysis of parts and processes
- Write and assist with TDR’s, ECN’s, and Lab. Reports
- Assist in new product implementation/integration into manufacturing
- Establish Bill of Material list for assemblies and sub-assemblies
- Responsible for production and quality for all non-standard materials and products
- Maintain inventory of all First Run articles and verify all material for function and fit
- Organize, maintain, and keep a clean work environment
- Capable of training and reviewing work of PDT1 and PDT2
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10yrs. experience in related millwork field like window and door manufacturing with extensive experience with door and window hardware.
- Mill-work safe operating procedure and knowledge of the industry’s wood working equipment.
- Experience training employees.
- Ability to trouble shoot and work without direct supervision.
- Strong mathematical skills
- Strong Communication Skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to prepare parts and assembly drawings (hand drafting only)
- Computer Programs: Software knowledge Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A current, valid California Class C driver’s license at time of appointment and maintained at all times thereafter in order to operate a company vehicle.
TRAVEL:
- 5-10% travel is anticipated

Expected pay for this role is between $29.46 to $32.57 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
