JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Quality Manager to join our growing team. 

 

Summary:

 

The Quality Manager is a highly valued member of the plant staff and is responsible for critical activities including coordinating the implementation, auditing, managing, and continuous improvement of quality management systems throughout the production process to ensure that products and services are consistent with JELD-WEN’s established standards, customer and product specifications, and production goals.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Coordinate the preparation and continuous improvement of the QMS documentation.
  • Make sure that internal system audits are carried out according to schedule. Conduct management reviews. Facilitate the development of corrective actions and verify the implementation of these.
  • In case of internal and/or external non-conformity, carry out inspection and measurement activity to provide factual data supporting relevant problem solving. Make sure that corrective and preventive actions are developed together with the Production/Engineering team. Should non-conformance be related to a supplied component, request corrective action from suppliers. Verify the efficacy of corrective actions.
  • Monitor and analyze non-quality costs (scrap, rework, return goods). Coordinate the preparation of corrective and preventive actions and verify their efficacy.
  • Coordinate process audits in order to verify that production is running within nominal conditions.
  • Monitor and analyze results of process control activity (in-process inspection, OQL audit, incoming inspection). Coordinate the preparation of corrective and preventive actions and verify their efficiency.
  • Take part in preparation, maintenance of Quality Planning Documents (CP, PFMEA, PPAP) in line with relevant procedures.
  • Take part in verification, validation of series production in case of Engineering Changes (Green Card Trial, PPAP…).
  • Participate in supplier audits aiming at supplier evaluation and re-evaluation and/or problem solving in case of external non-conformances.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or technical discipline or field preferred, and three (3) to five (5) years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
  • Hands on experience using modern operational excellence and continuous improvement methodologies including LEAN, TPS, SQDCI, OTD/JIT, etc.
  • Knowledge of problem solving methods 8D, Pareto, Shainin.
  • System auditing knowledge (ISO/TS).
  • Process Auditing (LPA).
  • Certified Lean Manager and Six Sigma certification preferred (green or black belt). Other certifications (CMQ/OE/ASQ) in quality control (QC) a plus.
  • Knowledge of quality planning tools (PPAP, APQP, MSA, PFMEA).
  • Knowledge of standards (ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949).
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills up and down the organizational hierarchy to include corporate and cross functional teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with direct reports and influence on those with whom there is not a reporting relationship.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and other position applicable JELD-WEN engineering software applications.
  • Estimated Travel: Up to 10%. Will on occasion travel to appropriate seminars and training and to other JELD-WEN manufacturing facilities.
