JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Network Engineer to join our growing team.

 

The Opportunity

 

As a valued member of the North American IT Operations team, the Network Engineer is responsible for a broad range of tasks, supporting and maintaining the data networks (LAN and WAN) for JELD-WEN’s North America locations. This is a hands-on role that requires a high level of attention to detail. 

 

This position will be in Charlotte, NC and reports to the Manager of Platforms and Networks.

 

What You Will Do

 

  • Implement, test, and manage LAN, WAN, Wireless, and Data Center Network Infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of network switches, routers, wireless access points, TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP
  • Maintain standards for low voltage cabling in JELD-WEN facilities.
  • Gather data for network asset management, including circuits, bandwidth, maintenance contracts, inventory, and related documentation with technical specifications.
  • Monitor and test network performance.
  • Remediate network performance issues by analyzing performance trends.
  • Manage WAN circuits through full lifecycle.  Completing order, implementing and disconnecting as appropriate.
  • Document current and future network designs consistent with JELD-WEN standards.
  • Perform regular audits of circuit information including circuit IDs, bandwidth, costs, and contract status.
  • Stay current on capabilities and innovations with products utilized by JELD-WEN.
  • Manage the wireless infrastructure to include access points, policy management, coordination of site surveys, solution implementation, and post implementation support and validation.
  • Collaborate on Request for Proposal documents to support cabling build out and replacement efforts.  Provide input on recommendations based on network standards, solution design, and solution cost.
  • Perform on-site assessment, diagnosis, and resolution of network problems. Implement corrective hardware and software solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
  • On call and support responsibilities to resolve network incidents.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

Who You Are

 

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in management information systems, computer science or related degree; or 4 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years Network Management experience in an enterprise environment providing hands on support.
  • Customer service experience, including telephone and face to face support.
